Reverse Proxy Config Generator

A reverse proxy forwards incoming requests to one (or many) backend servers. It’s commonly used for TLS termination, security controls, caching, and load balancing.

Use HTTPS, keep your OS/webserver updated, add security headers, enable HSTS where appropriate, and restrict access using allowlists, rate limiting, or basic auth.

Enable it for apps that use WebSockets (chat, real-time dashboards, streaming). Otherwise you can leave it off.

Caching can help static assets and certain idempotent responses. HSTS should be enabled only when you’re sure HTTPS will remain available for the domain (and you understand browser caching behavior).
